There are many ways to give to
St Michael’s, through time, skill and financially.
Like all Parish churches, St Michael’s receives no funding from the state. Major fundraising and giving by the parishioners, supplemented by some legacies, have resulted in extensive renovations to the historic fabric of the church and in the new buildings and landscaping. However, day to day running costs have to be paid for entirely through the generous contributions of the congregation (donations, blue envelopes, the collection plate and Planned Giving) and fund raising events.
During these unprecedented times our income from congregational giving and other sources (eg our various fund raising events) is greatly reduced. Even though we are taking action to reduce costs, there are still expenses to cover, and we invite you to help with these, if you possibly can. There are various ways you can help.
Planned Giving. If you normally make a donation at services in cash or with a Blue Envelope, please consider joining Planned Giving. The form can be found below or email the Parish Office and we will send one to you. More information on Planned Giving can be found here.
Gift Aid form
Giving by Text. You can make an offering via text from your mobile phone. Simply text SAINTMICHAEL to 70470 followed by the amount you wish to give. E.g. SAINTMICHAEL £15. You can donate up to £20 in one text, although you can send more than one text.
Donate Directly. Alternatively, you can donate directly to the church bank account. Barclays, account no. 10774065, Sort Code 20-72-33 (Ref. Donation). Cheques addressed to ‘Saint Michael & All Angels Barnes’ can also be sent to the Vicarage. If you are able to give, thank you.
Easyfundraising. As we are unable to fundraise in person at present, and as many of us are buying more online than before, we have registered St Michael’s with easyfundraising. This allows you to raise free donations for St Michael’s when you shop online. Easyfundraising has over 4,000 shops and sites which will donate to us at no extra cost to you, including lots of big name retailers eg John Lewis, M&S. All you have to do is sign up to support us using the link below. We really need all the help we can get at the moment and any funds we raise will make a big difference, so we would really appreciate it if you could take a moment to sign up and support us. Link is here.
The Finance Committee is a subcommittee of the PCC, offering advice and support on financial matters. It is Chaired by the Treasurer, Jacqueline Russell. The work of the FC helps St Michael’s to use its income and giving to the glory of God and the service of his people in this place.
